Mining has become a controversial industrial practice and yet metals are so much part of our daily experience that we no longer even notice how extensive our use of these materials are. How can we imagine living without metals? However what are mega mining projects doing to our environment?

CitizenShift and Institut du Nouveau Monde are seeking stories under various forms (articles, photos, podcasts, videos) to expose every aspect of mining exploration and exploitation, as well as the use of these metals in our daily lives.
