Biography:

Tamara Herman is a community organizer and independent journalist who has worked on social justice and extraction-related issues in Canada and abroad for over 15 years. She was active with the “Alcan’t in India” and  “Frente Amplio Opositor” campaigns in Canada. She has also worked for organizations that include the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development (Rights & Democracy), la Ligue des droits et libertés and the Vancouver Island Public Interest Research Group. Tamara has traveled to Ecuador, India, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Spain and Tunisia as an independent journalist and activist. She completed her Master's Degree thesis on a Canadian-owned mine in Mexico.
