CanadasWorld
A project of the SFU Centre for Dialogue, Canada's World is a three-year citizens' dialogue that engages Canadians in developing a new story for Canada in the world. We bring Canadians together for conversations on the issues that define the current global environment - issues that provide both opportunities and challenges for Canadians. Unlike traditional processes and consultations led by government, this project is funded by individuals, businesses, international organizations and foundations who want to inspire citizens to write a new story for Canada.
Using the perspectives and ideas expressed across all sectors, reflected in dialogue sessions with thousands of Canadians over the last 2.5 years, the project is putting Canada back on the map and sharing a new story about a bolder, more responsible Canada in the world.
A Canada's World research publication called Back On The Map is now available online, outlining this new vision and 5 key areas of opportunity for Canadian leadership in the world: advancing a green economy, embracing diversity, championing good governance, fostering innovation, and promoting gender equality and human development. Now in its final phase, the project's aim is to advance this vision, translating it into visible action.
