Media for social change

In June 2005, the "No one is Illegal" March on Ottawa made its way from the immigrant neighbourhoods of Montreal to Parliament Hill. Despite searing heat, rain and sickness, hundreds of protesters denounce the detention and deportation of non-status migrants and call for the abolition of security certificates. Over 8 days and 200 km, the marchers develop solidarity - with each other as well as with the countless "invisible" people living in Canada with no legal status.
