75% of world blindness is preventable.  The cost of sight restoration surgery in developing countries is far from inaffordable, and yet millions globally continue to suffer from on-going blindness.  What will it take for this unneccessary suffering to stop, and for these people to get the treatment they deserve?  Maybe it's just a matter of opening our eyes to their plight.
