Young people learn how to tell their stories of change and courage through film, music and poetry.
"I learned that there are some people who actually give a shit". Those are the words of one student who took a leap of faith and participated in one of the documentary projects in this dossier.
By turning the microphones and cameras over to young people, Productions Oracle have created Turning Points and Focus, two documentaries that tell the stories of disenfranchised young people and empower them to create music, poetry and film. Watch how the act of telling stories about life, change, courage and success can itself be a life-changing experience.
Coming out of the closet to friends and family is often a difficult experience replete with emotional vulnerability and uncertain outcomes. It can, however, also be a tremendous moment of courage and of intimacy between people. That range of possibility is explored in this personal anecdote of one gay male's experience coming out first to his parents and then to a friend.
