I had no idea until I saw the above comments...
I had to google to find out more info...but still no answers!
Mirlande still leaves such a legacy...and only 26!

I too was saddened to hear of Mirlande's recent passing. I had the pleasure of meeting her on a couple of occasions during meetings of the National Anti-Racism Council of Canada. The world will miss such an amazingly passionate, dedicated and inspiring young woman and activist...

Thank you for making this videotaped interview of Mirlande available on the internet. She was an incredible activist for youth, women, immigrants and refugees, racialized people and people with disabilities. I was very saddened to hear of her death, so young, in June 2008. She was President-Elect of the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW) at the time, as well as involved with many organizations.
