Sari Greenberg was born in Poland on November 25th, 1939. In addition to the fact her family was Jewish, Sari’s mother was a leftist when it came to politics. After the Germans invaded Poland, Sari’s father feared for his wife’s and children’s lives, since her political opinions were contrary to those of the Nazi regime. That’s why he put her on the first train he saw with their two children, without even knowing where it was heading to.
Sari explains how her father found his children again after the war and why why her family would prefer immigra ting to Canada rather than trying to rebuild a life in Poland.
