Manuel Cohen was born and raised in Montreal and his father had been born in Poland. In 1939 Manuel’s father got to Poland to wrap up some family business and never came home. Manuel was about 13 years old when his father sailed to Poland. In 1946, Manuel received a letter from a Polish woman who had hidden his father during the war.
