War rages in Darfur but a three-year-old tenuous peace holds in Southern Sudan. What happens to a place after peace deals are signed, while refugees return, as media emerge, and as aid pours in? There is peace in Sudan, and we're taking a close look at it.

Here are a series of photos of Internally Displaced People (IDP) who are returning to their traditional homeland in Southern Sudan in 2007 and 2008.
Since the 2005 ending of the civil war between the Sudan Armed Forces and the Sudan People's Liberation Army, more than two million people have returned to their homeland. Up to three million are still displaced within the country or live as refugees in neighbouring countries.
These photos were taken by the UN agency, International Organization for Migration as they assisted with the IDP repatriation as part of their mandate in Sudan.
