Urban Renewal: Human Neglect?SubscribeSyndicate content

Urban Renewal: Human Neglect?

Is gentrification problematic or simply economically viable?

Higher rent vs. jobs? Displacement vs. neighbourhood prosperity? To some the term 'gentrification' instils the emotion to fight for rights, for others it rings of opportunity well being. Ultimately, urban renewal has been occurring in urban areas for decades. How does this affect the people who are living in these changing environments and what happens to those who are squeezed out of their homes? Are we turning a blind eye to human rights in favour of new businesses, urban 'beautification' and economic growth? Check out this dossier to find out more.
