Young people learn how to tell their stories of change and courage through film, music and poetry.
"I learned that there are some people who actually give a shit". Those are the words of one student who took a leap of faith and participated in one of the documentary projects in this dossier.
By turning the microphones and cameras over to young people, Productions Oracle have created Turning Points and Focus, two documentaries that tell the stories of disenfranchised young people and empower them to create music, poetry and film. Watch how the act of telling stories about life, change, courage and success can itself be a life-changing experience.
Since 1988 Father Emmett Johns, founder of Dans la rue, has been helping homeless youth get off the streets of Montreal by offering them food, shelter, education, medical attention, and so much more. Check out the website to find out more about this valuable organization.
