The Laural Springs School recently held a competition on You Tube called Why Homeschool is Cool Video Contest. The recipient of the grand prize is 15 year old Hazel Newlevant, of Portland, Oregon, for her animated film What I like about Homeschooling. In addition to drawing the illustrations, Hazel also created the animation for the piece. This creative short shares the message that homeschool students experience the world as their classroom. Hazel also performed the featured music, entitled Watchman’s Song by Edvard Greig.
