Fayetteville, Forward March Toward Peace (Part 3) - Fayetteville and the peace movement
Chuck Fager shows off a Quaker exhibit of the peace movement's history in Fayetteville. Items include "Bragg Briefs", a tabloid for peace published during the Vietnam war, and articles detailing the Quakers' efforts to help troubled soldiers - efforts that resulted in the firebombing of Quaker House after a large anti-Vietnam-war rally in Fayetteville. Fager says that, despite many documents that testify to Fayetteville's real anxiety about the Vietnam war, most of that history has been "erased from local memory".
