Progress report

Preliminary post-production of the documentary is about to begin, with some help from the Filmmakers’ Assistance Program at the National Film Board. We have a lot of footage to comb through, about 45 tapes worth. Ameesha and I have yet to view any of it since both of us have been out of town since the shoot wrapped.

Portrait of three-time world champion boxer MC Mary Kom at her home in Imphal, Manipur. Indians from the north-eastern states are sometimes treated like foreigners when they travel to other parts of India. They may experience prejudice or racism in their own country, because they are mistaken for Chinese, Nepalese, Burmese…

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a shot of the sign that says, ‘Don’t gossip, let him drive.’ But we found this billboard in Imphal.
