This is the final instalment of ‘Girls from Cambodia’ from Outer Voices.
We hoped you like what you heard. The folks at Outer Voices worked hard on this story. We hope these voices stick in your head and might inspire you to share their story with others.
For more work related to this topic, ck out BleuRouge, a blog by three young film makers about their experience and the challenges of making media about child sex workers in Asia.
Also, Rebel With a Cause, Diego Briceno-Orduz, has made a film about street kids who are victims of sex tourism. This work is an important reminder that sex trafficking reaches beyong Asia and isn’t contained to young girls.
Coming up next: Another interview from photographer and newfound audio journalist Darren Ell.

This is the first time we’ve featured a professionally produced audio doc on Citizenshift. We’d love to hear what you think about the addition.
We will be broadcasting the documentary in three parts, so keep your ears peeled for the next instalment.
It’ll be soon. Promise. Daren Ell’s interview series will be back in two weeks.
In the mean time, please visit Outervoices.org for more information about the project. On the site you’ll find other compelling audio docs, great images, contact info and short bios of about the crack team of producers who brought this story to your ears.
For some reading, try ‘Rebuilding Cambodia Woman by Woman’ by Karoline Kemp. She was a production assistant on the project and shares her personal experience as well as her thoughts on grassroots approaches to development.
Most importantly, Outer Voices would love it if you shared with others. Feel free to use it (or pieces of it) in a classroom, in a presentation or any other way you think will help people educate people. Contact them here.
