Videoblog FNC

Mélanie, Mathieu and Annie are inviting the public to live out the Festival du Nouveau Cinema by sharing their festival-going experiences through a videoblog platform. Throughout these 10 days, they’ll be covering the event in real-time, including live feeds of their daily interactions, thoughts, comments, and unexpected outcomes in an alternative way and far from what traditional media can offer. Recently, the Kung-Fu numérik crew joined this special adventure.

Buddha Collapsed out of Shame

This is Blog#2 for the FNC and I decided to go see “Buddha collapsed out of Shame”. The movie is filmed in Afghanistan and depicts the story of children and how war torn regions of the world can create profound forms of courage when one is confronted with social and political adversity. Iranian director, Hana Makhmalbaf, is 18 years old and she is the daughter of Moshen Makhmalbaf who started the Makhmalbaf Film House in Iran. Mona Tajali from Concordia University was my guest and she gives us great insight about Hana and cinematography in this particular area of the world.
