Watch what you write in your blog! - Or at least understand when you’re breaking the rules.
The EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) offers a Blogger Legal Liability Issues guide. It’s well worth a read.

checked out northern voice - a community based blogging conference in vancouver b.c.
& it was very educational + a great chance to meet techies and non-profits hoping to become more techie from all over the place. i especially enjoyed the ‘netsquared north’ the ‘Nonprofit Tech Bootcamp’ where we discussed online community and community building through blogging and other means…
the organizers of netsquared north was Social Signal
a really amazing organization that helps non-profits become technologically equipped for their specific needs.
also met Nancy White who facilitated a couple of workshops and helps to build online communities with a strong social sensibility. really incredible work that she does. for example, the Gender & Diversity Program of the CGIAR (or, the consultative group on international agricultural research) which is a:
‘A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE of countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations supporting 15 international agricultural Centers, that work with national agricultural research systems and civil society organizations including the private sector. The alliance mobilizes agricultural sceince to reduce poverty, foster human well-being, promote agricultural growth and protect the environment. The CGIAR generates global public goods that are available to all.’
It was so inspiring to see such a wealth of projects that were using alternative new media projects to facilitate social causes & concerns + are being used to create strong communities on and offline…
