ShiraShira Avni has been an animator at the NFB since 1997. She also teaches animation at Concordia University. Her film John and Michael, a love story between two men with Down syndrome, won 13 awards and screened in 50 festivals worldwide. Shira lives happily in Montreal with puppeteer Salim Hammad.
