Join four talented artists with Down syndrome as they tackle the enormously complex process of animated filmmaking with joy and intense concentration.
Shira Avni has been an animator at the NFB since 1997. She also teaches animation at Concordia University. Her film John and Michael, a love story between two men with Down syndrome, won 13 awards and screened in 50 festivals worldwide. Shira lives happily in Montreal with puppeteer Salim Hammad.
